Printer 966 - No Communication

There is a PSQN that explains this issue in more depth:

Security Alert Seen When Installing Dell™ Photo All-In-One Printer 966 Drivers with Norton or McAfee Firewall DSN ID 309558

Symantec and McAfee has already white-listed the AIO 966, but our customers will have to download the latest updates to get the new white-list.

This issue may exist with other security software, but right now Norton and McAfee are the only ones we were aware of.

W.r.t. the numerous issues of No Communication that we have been having with the 966 (using just the USB cable) I think we are closer to the solution now - (I Hope!)

Looks like the Firewall in the new McAfee / PcCillin / Norton is blocking the printer and causing a communication error; (And this is when the printer is connected with the USB cable!)

Did a PC Restore and installed the printer - When it was about to initialize the AIO Center McAfee popped up asking for access permissions for . Grant Access - Grant Access - Grant Access - And all was solved - The printer prints / scans does everything perfectly.
